Do Nothing Congress, please

Here’s why.
Our congress is in place to create legislation that is necessary. As far as I’m concerned, if it isn’t necessary - don’t pass it. I’m happy to send a congresswoman (well maybe not this congresswoman ![]()
There are some things that they must do.
Appropriate the funds necessary (but nothing more) to operate our government.
Fund our troops - hey, you gave the President the authority in Iraq. Like it or not, he’s got the ball. If you want out of Iraq, cut off the funds. Don’t play political games with the men and women who protect us here and abroad. In 2008 the people of the United States will have the chance to decide who will determine how our strategy for the global war on terror should be addressed. Madame Speaker, if you want to make those kinds of decisions, run for president. Otherwise, shut up and fund our troops.
Spend some time in your district (are you listening Conman Kucinich?), listen to your constituents and serve as their voice in the Capitol.
I left that third one for last because it leads me to my final point - if you listen to the people of this country they will tell you:
We don’t need “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”. What we need is “COMPREHENSIVE ENFORCEMENT OF THE EXISTING IMMIGRATION LAWS”.
The melting pot of the United States doesn’t need a new cookbook. The flavor of the Immigration Stew has gotten bad over the years because the idiots in our government stopped following the recipe. A new plan for immigration is not what our country needs, what our country needs is be more diligent in the kitchen.
Do Nothing Congress, please. Just pay the bills (it also might help if you beefed up the border patrol’s budget a little bit) and do no harm.
