These guys suck
I love my friends in the conservative movement, but conservative the way I understand it means to stay the hell out of other people’s business unless it negatively impacts you. Ohio SB16 just passed the House today and it is just another example of the Christofacists making things worse instead of better.

A stripper shaking her ass in front of a crowd of sedated and corralled degenerates is better than a crowd of wild uncontrolled degenerates chasing my four year old daughter. The passage of this bill is reverse conservatism at its worst.
Ohio needs to keep strip clubs open and the perverts out of our neighborhoods. What next oh wise destroyers of our local Home Rule rights? Oh yeah - forcing bad cable TV legislation down our throats disguised in the costume of competition.
Guess what legislative stooges, you’ve only got about a year before the electorate comes calling and something tells me that your tenure in Columbus is coming to an end.

Ohio SB16 just passed the House today and it is just another example of the Christofacists making things worse instead of better. […]

why do you think this bill received more than a nominal amount of democratic votes? as for homerule, why don’t we pass an ordinance that says if your child was born in cleveland, you must remain a cleveland resident (and fund these shitty schools with your property taxes) until your child reaches the age at which he/she would have graduated whether or not the child attends the public schools. doesn’t work very well for ya, does it?

Mike…
Howdy!
Your point’s well taken about the Home Rule issue.
As for the number of Democrats voting for the bill, like every politician they’re afraid of being called the “Pro-stripper Candidate”, hence the ubiquitous “these guys suck”. Few if any of them are more concerned about constitutional protections as they are about getting re-elected.

[…] At the state level in Ohio our elected officials are so busy putting strippers out of business and ramming bad Cable TV legislation down our throats that they barely bothered to look at the governor’s budget before they passed it - of course they had to do that so that they could get their staffers pay increase in without delay […]
