Citing Vice President Dick Cheney’s never-ending health issues as his reason, Conman Dennis Kucinich today chose to halt his call for seeking articles of impeachment against the VP. This from Openers:
Kucinich postpones Cheney impeachment attempt

Cleveland Democrat Dennis Kucinich has postponed his announcement of articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney. Kucinich’s office said the congressman was doing so because of Cheney’s health.
Cheney today is seeing his doctor at George Washington University’s medical center for matters related to the blood clot in his leg, discovered in March.
“News reports this morning indicate the Vice President was experiencing a medical crisis,” Kucinich said in a statement. “Until the Vice President’s condition is clarified, I am placing any action on hold.”
“Crisis” might be an overstatement, however — so maybe Kucinich will reschedule his planned announcement and move quickly to try to oust the veep from office, as is his goal. According to the Associated Press, the blood clot in Cheney’s left leg is slowly getting smaller and doctors this morning gave Cheney an upbeat report.
The real story though is that Speaker of State Nancy Pelosi refused to allow him to introduce the measure. This from CQ Politics says it all:
Pelosi’s office isn’t amused. “Nothing’s changed. It’s off the table,” insisted Pelosi spokesman Nadeam Elshami. “We’re focusing on tough issues like bringing the war in Iraq to a responsible end and energy independence.”
Or could it be that this show of compassion on the part of the conman mean that he really loves Dick?
UPDATE 4/24 6:15pm
The conman held a press conference (is it still a press conference if nobody from the press attends?) this afternoon at 5pm to announce that he will introduce articles of impeachment against the VP.

UPDATE 4/25
From today’s PD:
Washington- After hinting for weeks that he would initiate impeachment actions against the Bush administration, Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich on Tuesday introduced three articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney.
Kucinich said Congress should oust Cheney from office for “fabricating a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction” to trick Congress and the public into believing war with Iraq was necessary. He said Cheney also manipulated intelligence to deceive the public about purported links between Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and al-Qaida, the group responsible for the attacks on Sept. 11.
Additionally, Kucinich accused Cheney of threatening aggression against Iran even though Iran has not threatened the United States… read the full story here.
