RAB’s Naugle explains himself
Continuing on the post that I put up earlier regarding the controversy at Right Angle Blog and Matt Naugle’s posting of photos from John Brunner’s FaceBook page and JMZ at WLST’s reaction, below please find Matt’s response:
RE: Jennifer Brunner’s Son
OK, I’m getting lots of feedback about this post about John Brunner, son of Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner. Lots of liberal bloggers gave predictable responses and are not happy with me: here, here, and here. And on the right, Wendel Robinson, a blogger that I have great respect for, also condemned my post before giving me a chance to explain. And blogger Tim Ferris, who claims to be a Republican, also sent me a negative email. But I’ve also received a lot of positive emails about my post from RAB lurkers…. So far, the number of supportive emails is up to 9.
So before you pass judgment, please consider these points:
1) John Brunner is an adult, and is NOT a child.
2) John Brunner’s profile was accessible on Facebook.com to ANYONE who registered in the Columbus area network. Therefore, John Brunner posted pictures online for the world to see, since anyone on Facebook could claim to live in Columbus.
3) John Brunner is clearly a political activist, and has chosen to enter into the political area. In addition to listing himself as part of his mother’s campaign’s advance team, he is also listed as an active College Democrat and a member of other liberal groups.
Therefore, John Brunner did all the damage himself by posting this stuff online, and I’m simply re-posting it for RAB readers to judge. I don’t think its worth validating my post by linking to liberal blogs who have said much worse things about the Bush twins and Rick Santorum’s children- But it is worth noting that in Jerid’s post that I linked to above, he is essentially encouraging people to check out the facebook profiles of children of a certain State Representative.
I will add that I believe John’s Facebook profile is fair game, and it speaks volumes about the type of parents Rick and Jennifer Brunner were. But I leave it to you to make up your own mind.
