The Conman does something right

It may have had more to do with the fact that it was 4AM and my daughter insisting that she MUST have some chocolate milk which I dutifully provided and while she quickly fell back to sleep in her warm comfortable bed, I was unable to do so. Since I couldn’t get back to sleep, I was forced to choose between some books that I couldn’t bring myself to read and the fairly limited offerings of soft porn, infomercials and CSPAN on the TV, I ended up defaulting to the latter - probably because I had already seen the 30 minute “Little Giant Ladder” ad twice (gotta get me one of those) and the porn was well… porn. But I digress… this morning’s CSPAN offering was a broadcast of:
Yesterday the Conman’s congressional subcommittee on Oversight and Government Reform Domestic Policy heard testimony on the value of stadium projects and convention centers to communities. At the heart of the testimony and debate was the question of who benefits most from the tax breaks and public financing vehicles that are often used to support development of these projects.
It would seem that the Conman is opposed to the subsidies offered as enticements on these projects - the panels definitely favored the perspective that the majority of these projects are boondoggles (and since he decides who will testify…), and I’ve got to give him some credit because he seemed pretty adamant that these facilities do little toward economic benefit in the communities in which they are built.
And I tend to agree.
Nice job Congressman Kucinich - thanks for actually representing us for once… and oh, by the way, can we conclude from your statements yesterday that you will NOT SUPPORT THE BUILDING OF A NEW CONVENTION CENTER IN CLEVELAND?
I’m not going to hold my breath. After all, you’re the Conman so I guess we should take it with a grain of salt.
