Frost says he will not seek CuyCo BOE seat

On the Sound of Ideas today, Cuyahoga County GOP chairman Rob Frost said he will not seek a seat on the county’s board of elections.

Good. Again, I would suggest Mike Wise and Jim Trakas for these seats.

I am in total survival mode re: getting what must get done, done. I missed SOI this morning, so thanks for posting about this. I agree on Frost, but I don’t know about Wise or Trakas. I like Trakas in general, and he’s stayed out of the thick of things but even so, I really would prefer people with no name whatsoever, from both parties, or no party. Like a librarian or something. I don’t know. But name recognition would actually be, for me, a disqualification for the BOE, in my mind, right now, no matter who it is. IMO

[…] As for the Republicans, one name has quickly risen to the top of the list - former Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Jeff Hastings. Jeff was one of the people I identified in an earlier post that gamed the candidates. With the revelation that CuyCo GOP chair Rob Frost is not seeking a place on the board, a path is now clear for Hastings to get the nod. I think he’s a good choice and will do a fine job. […]

  3. Who would want that job (redux) » wenBLOG says:

[…] Based on the conversations I’ve had with interested parties, my two original selections Mike Wise and Jim Trakas have no interest in a place on the Board. It should also be noted that unless CuyCo GOP chairman Rob Frost is a liar, he has no interest in the seat either (Frost was definitive in stating that he would not seek a seat on the board in this interview and unless he was being duplicitous he will not seek the seat). […]

[…] I’m not sure which makes me angrier, the fact that Cuyahoga County Republican Party Chairman Rob Frost could be diluting his already less than effective responsibilities as county party chairman by moonlighting as a litigator, or that he did a quick about face on his pledge not to seek a vacant seat on the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. […]

  5. There is a meeting » wenBLOG says:

[…] In response to the question I posed yesterday afternoon, apparently there is an official Cuyahoga County GOP Executive Committee meeting tomorrow morning to coronate Rob Frost as the replacement for Bob Bennett at Board of Elections (apparently nobody else indicated an interest… or at least was willing to go against the chair - who said he wasn’t interested in the seat).
