$94 wil buy you a vote in Atlanta

Last night as I was channel surfing waiting for my weekly

installment of 24 to start, I happened upon Bill Maher’s HBO liberal-Bush-bash. I stopped to watch a few minutes of the program - not because great political thinkers like John Legend were guests - but because I saw David Frum of the American Enterprise Institute amongst the program’s empaneled brain trust.

What caught my attention was a comment from another of the show’s panel, Atlanta mayor Shirley Franklin when discussing campaign finance reform. She said she raised $4 million for her last mayoral campaign. I just checked the results of that race - she spent roughly $93.80 for each vote!

Regardless of the cost, something tells me the homeless population in the ATL think she was worth it.

…maybe we should spend more on our elections in Cleveland?
