Is it really worth the effort?

JMZ @ WLST has been on a rampage since the beginning of this controversy…

Word has continued to creep in that media outlets are dropping Ann Coulter like a hot potato following her outlandishly crude comments about John Edwards at last week’s CPAC conference.

While I agree that Coulter’s characterization of Edwards as a faggot was distasteful and a poor attempt at a cheap joke, I’m amazed by the amount of effort that people have expended in an effort to facilitate a Coulter defrocking.

Ms. Coulter’s stock as a pundit has been falling like the value of the religious right. Publishers and advertisers were already beginning to say goodbye. There was no need to grease the skids for ushering her into the street. Her act was well on the way to doing it for her.

Liberals may be wiser to hope that she stays employed so that they can continue to demonize the right with her as the pin-up girl.

Eh. It’s really not hard - in fact, reality is that Coulter is the easiest thing to blog about on a busy day in one’s personal life because it’s all out there to choose from. The effort is, frankly, minimal. I could care less whether she stays or goes as the pinup whatever - I never wrote about her before, I don’t think, and I don’t anticipate writing about her much more than I have already. It’s really not about her to begin with, as many have said. It’s about who the Conservative Union allows itself to present as the face or mouthpiece or attraction whom they want to draw people to its fold. That’s the extremely unnerving part, Wendell. It could be anyone - but it happens to be Coulter.

Frankly - I think she in fact does need to be under mental health care - I don’t care if you call it rehab or therapy. Did you see any of the hannity and colmes clip from last night? She’s totally, I mean, completely not on this earth.

I agree JMZ she is an unfortunate piece of debris floating in the breeze of the MSM.
How about we make a deal on therapy? If she goes, Conman Kucinich has to go. Right now it’s hard to figure out who likes them less - their enemies or their own parties.

  3. Jill says:

I say they go into group therapy together - I’m sure we could find a few more to fill out the group. Now…who would LEAD the group?

  4. Wendell says:

Well, my first choice would be Freud, but since he’s dead.. how about Dr. Ruth (she is still alive, right?).
Coulter’s numerous failed engagements and the conman’s bizarre infatuation for tall skinny women are obvious signs of sexual repression and probably serve as the motivating factors for both.
    - It would also make them quite a couple!

  5. Obsessed with Ann Coulter » wenBLOG says:

[…] JMZ over at WLST continues with her Coulter obsesssion. Jill I’ve rethunk it (I know, not necessarily the Queen’s English), and you may be the one in need of therapy. […]
