24; Day 6: 5PM - 6PM
The following takes place after the airing of each new episode of 24 on FOX…
I’m debating as to who made the bigger bone-headed move in last night’s episode: Reed for believing that he could trust Lennox to keep the assassination plot of the president a secret, or Jack for wandering to the doorway after he got the information from Markov - before he called the info into CTU. Both of these were major “duh!” moments. Oh well, anything to move the plot along.
Other highlights from last night’s program for me included the frank quality that Lennox and Vice President Daniels discussed the assasination attempt - this shows that they’re more like equals rather than leader and subordinate (maybe there’s some backstory there) and how quickly Jack decided to storm the Russian consulate in an attempt to co-opt Marko. By the way, when did Jack learn how to speak Russian?
Before I get to my things for this week, I must admit my incorrect prediction about Karen Hayes going back to CTU. Boy was I way off on that one.
Okay, here are my things for this week…
- I still think that Jack was brainwashed when he was held by the Chinese - is it possible that they gave him some kind of code phrase to kick him into gear (i.e. - the passage that he came across underlined in Logan’s Bible (Psalms 40:2 “He brought me up also out of the horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings”; King James version) and Logan recited to himself when he was preparing for the meeting with Markov. Could Logan be in on the subterfuge?
- Additionally was Logan playing Jack by baiting him and knowing that he would storm the Russian consulate after Logan failed to gain the information from Markov, thus setting an international incident into motion?
Who knows? That’s all I’ve got. Guess who’s back next week… this guy and he’s skinny -
