And the first one bites the dust

Media reports are filtering in that the already crowded field of contenders in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination will be lessened by one by the day’s end.  Tom Vilsack (the former Governor of Iowa for those of you without a scorecard) is expected to announce before the weekend that he is getting out of the race.

Vilsack joins John Kerry as the next presidential wannabe who ain’t gonna be.  He isn’t the first and won’t be the last.
