24; Day 6: 11AM - 12PM

The following takes place following the airing of each new episode of 24 on FOX

Well as predicted, last night’s episode of 24 was more story reset and prep for future plot direction.  Very little was resolved and plenty of new forks in the story’s path were

created.  Highlights of the episode included the introduction of Jack’s father Phillip, the resignation of Karen Hayes from President Wayne Palmer’s administration and the revelation that Graem Bauer is a very bad boy.

The plot twist that I enjoyed the most was the dead-end the writers created with Walid at the detention center and the Muslims sympathetic to (but not complicit with) the terrorists.  Chloe’s line, “they’re spectators” said it all.  This twist though also reinforces an underlying tenet of this show’s storyline - not all Muslims are bad.  In fact it’s only a few that are causing problems and their actions have fueled significant anti-Muslim sentiment in the USA.

My things for this week:

Remember what I said about Darren McCarthy using Morris to reprogram the nukes? The conversation McCarthy had with his contact on the phone in last night’s episode about “there is one person, but he won’t do it without some coercion” points directly at Morris. Look for Chloe to be compromised in some fashion and Morris being forced to do the work in exchange for her safety.

Watch for further weaving of the concept of Muslims sympathetic to the terrorists, but not active in their cause. This is a complicated scenario, but adds real fiber to the story and portrays what’s happening in the real world.

Karen Hayes is going to show up at CTU in Los Angeles and it will create tension with her and Bill Buchanan. Ultimately this will come to a head with a decision involving Palmer’s Advisor Thomas Lennox and the earlier allegations Lennox made about Buchanan’s involvement with Fayed.

Finally, what about Milo signing Nadia in to the computer system under his user name and password? He was trying to be a nice guy, but this will bite him in the ass in the end. It also creates an opening should Nadia turn-out to be a baddie.

That’s all for this week…  now for your treat (remember this creepy guy?) -

Thanks to FOX for the video. Tune in next week for the next installment.

[…] I told you a while ago that Milo’s proffering of his access codes to Nadia would come back to haunt him. When the leak was found through Nadia’s system, it opened Milo up to scrutiny. His playing fast and loose with the rules didn’t cause the leak, but will get him in trouble. I don’t think that Nadia is a spy, because what we will find is that… […]
