“Mika” means taste in the language of the MSM
I happened to be watching Morning Joe the other day when Mika Brzezinski refused to read the Paris Hilton story for the news segment of the show. What’s now transpired into this week’s viral video seemed fairly contrived to me during the broadcast and now that it’s bouncing around the internet at high speed, I still think so.
Frankly I had no problem with her decision to not read the story, but… she has a tendency to over-editorialize during the news segments of the program and I do find it annoying. Is she a journalist, or a commentator? If she’s a journalist, I suggest she read the news. If she’s a commentator, then find somebody else to read the news.
Apparently as far as viewers of the MSM are concerned, Mika is a hero. No matter how tasteless the story is, it would seem to me that it takes more backbone to read a story one disagrees with rather than refusing to do so.
