What’s with you and Gilmore?

I wanted to share a portion of an email that I received this afternoon with you because it’s fairly indicative of what’s been showing up in the mailbag over the last two weeks:

What’s with you and Gilmore? If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were on his payroll. Didn’t you say after the first debate that you thought he was DOA because he couldn’t compete on the money side? What’s up with that and all of your praise? Aren’t you contradicting yourself?

Other than that, keep up the good work.

As always, thanks for the email - I read every one, and those of you who email me, you know that I always reply.

As for Governor Gilmore, you’re right I did say that after the first debate, but I also said that if he had the money he would be a good candidate. I have also started to rethink his chances. With FRED entering the race in about a month, Gilmore has a few weeks to continue to build on his recent momentum before conservatives get the “Southern Fried Reagan” they’ve been pining for, but what they’re likely to discover is that the former Tennessee senator may not have the staying power…

…and that will lead them to the guy they should have been with all along - Jim Gilmore. If he can stay in the race, who knows what may happen. He certainly deserves the chance to be heard.
