24; Day 6: 11PM - 12AM
The following takes place after the airing of each new episode of 24 on FOX…
This is late due to yesterday’s day of silence, so I’ll try to keep it short.
Monday’s 18th hour leaves us just 6 short hours away from this season’s conclusion. Highlights included President Palmer’s collapse, Jack’s going “off the reservation” to secure Audrey’s release and the lingering questions about who’s really in charge at the White House. There are a ton of story threads that need to be resolved, so I’m licking my lips in anticipation of my Monday nights for the next few weeks.
As the end of the season approaches, is anybody else wondering whether Joel Surnow, etal will be able to keep the show from “jumping the shark?” This season has had lengthy periods of story lag and I just don’t know if they’ll be able to leave us hanging at season’s end waiting for next year, or if they’ll pull some major stunt that will turn viewers off (they’ve already tried to kill Jack off, so I don’t see them returning to that; maybe they’ll have Jack kill the president). Recognizing the weak portions of the show’s mid-season, I hope they consider revamping the writing team or at a minimum, perhaps they should change the show’s name to 12… Okay, enough with my bitching.
My things for this week:
Look for an unveiling of who was really behind the plot to kill President Palmer. My bet is on VP Daniels’ aide Lisa Miller. Beyond her professional duties it would appear that there’s some amore between the two (which must really piss off his wife… he wears a wedding band) and she could effectively put the plot together and insulate her boss from knowing.
- I know I’ve been saying it for a while, but with the Chinese back in the game and the numerous statements about how this could start a war between the US, China and Russia, look for Phillip Bauer to come back into the storyline.
- Even though Audrey’s back, I think she’ll be dead before this season ends… but so will Jack (that’s the shark jump that’ll kill the show).
That’s all I’ve got. Happy viewing.

[…] Highlights for me in the 20th hour included the revelation that Vice President Daniels’ galpal, Lisa Miller, was duplicitous… no offense, but I told you this a few hours ago and this was vindication for me and her two-timing relationship with a Russian spy demonstrated it. Other items of note for me include the appearance of James Heller to collect Audrey, the emergence of Doyle as potentially a good guy by letting Jack rescue Audrey, and the ongoing he said / she said situation with Chloe and Morris.
