24; Day 6: 10PM - 11PM

The following takes place following the airing of each new episode of 24 on FOX

Aahhhh…

Finally a decent episode of 24. Thank you Joel Surnow - you met my demands (and those of most viewers). Last night’s hour looks like you’ve got the show back on track. Big news, Audrey Raines is alive! Hey you fooled me. I thought earlier in the season that she would be back, but then the photos of her death, etc. and you had me. This is likely to kick-off the final plotline in the story and I’m expecting the show to keep us on the edge of our seats for the final seven hours.

Highlights from last night are the obvious ones… Audrey lives, Fayed hanging by a chain and the president’s failing health. There’s a level of underlying intrigue in the developing relationship between Nadia and Doyle. And how about Karen Hayes taking a more authoritative approach in the president’s conversation with the ambassador?

I knew that somewhere along the line the Chinese would be back and now they are so it opens us up for my things for this week:

  • With Audrey Raines and the Chinese back in the storyline the time has come to find out what it was that the U.S. gave up in exchange for Jack Bauer. I think it was Audrey… or maybe it was KIM BAUER?
  • The Chinese thread also offers the opportunity to reintroduce Phillip Bauer to the story. As I’ve said in earlier posts this could be the key to Day 6, but how?
  • Somewhere Doyle plays in to the Audrey, Jack, Phillip scheme, I just don’t know where.
  • Finally, we know that President Palmer’s going to ask for the Vice President Daniels’ resignation because he doesn’t want to cede power back to him when his health fails. Besides Daniels’ refusal to resign, look for another battle to ensue between Karen Hayes and Tom Lennox for who the president will appoint as the new VP… I’m betting on Hayes.

That’s all for this week. Again, thank you Joel Surnow for righting the ship.
